In Sisterhood Participants

We are recording oral histories with influential leaders and single interviews with feminist activists who were part of the extensive network of individuals and organizations that flourished in southwest Pennsylvania during the contemporary women's movement, 1967 through 1987. They represent the diversity of age, gender and race of individuals who were taking action to break down barriers to social and economic inequality in the Pittsburgh region during that period. We record all interviews and oral histories on digital video to capture participant's expressions and gestures along with their words and glean valuable insights about the strategies they employed and the organizations they created in pursuit of social justice for women in our region.
