Friends mingled with women featured in the Hard Hatted Women: Trailblazing in the Labor Unions multimedia exhibit at the Rivers of Steel Gallery, Homestead PA at the opening reception on August, 26, 2016. Anne Feeney and Ginny Hildebrand, featured in the exhibit, performed music from the labor movement. They also led a sing-a-long of “This Land is Your Land” and other movement songs.

She presented an overview of the oral history project’s goals to preserve the history of the women’s movement in Pittsburgh and create a digitized collection that will be housed at the University of Pittsburgh Libraries Archive Services Center.

Heather Arnet, Women and Girls Foundation of Southwest Pennsylvania moderated the panel.

Pat Ulbrich, Director of The In Sisterhood Project, facilitated the roundtable on Activism and Reproductive Justice at the Reproductive Health, Rights, Access and Action Conference sponsored by the Gender, Sexuality and Women Studies Program, University of Pittsburgh on March 20, 2015. This conference drew together a multidisciplinary group of scholars, health care practitioners, and activists to interrogate the political, legal, social, and scientific dimensions of the struggle for reproductive rights in the United States.

A Celebration of Women’s Equality Day

On August 26, 2013, friends of In Sisterhood: The Women’s Movement in Pittsburgh met at BE Galleries in Lawrenceville to commemorate the 93rd anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment to the US Constitution and pay tribute to influential leaders of the women’s movement in the Pittsburgh region. We enjoyed tasty food, a signature cocktail, a special guest appearance by Susan B. Anthony, and an auction featuring unique prizes, including a tour of local historic suffragette sites.

This event was underwritten with generous support from the Eden Hall Foundation, Dollar Bank, Sitko Bruno LLC, UPMC, Murray Avenue Apothecary, Paragon Foods, BE Galleries, and the Kell Group.
